Klaas Zondervan

Klaas Zondervan is a genealogist specializing in inheritance law, a NOVEX-certified executor and liquidator, and the winner of the UK Probate Research Awards 🇬🇧 – Best Human Interest Story 2023. He is also a columnist for “De Notarisklerk,” a certified English translator, and a former board member of the Dutch Association of Legal Advisors (NVRA).

For several years now, Klaas has been working on cases involving Jewish looted art. These are works of art and objects that were taken from Jews during the Nazi era and never returned. “Painful,” according to Zondervan, who has successfully resubmitted previously rejected claims with stronger legal arguments or additional genealogical evidence.

For example, the heirs of the Jewish Adelsberger family from Nuremberg were able to recover two Von Stadler paintings. Zondervan was also able to locate a 100-year-old Jewish woman in Germany who is entitled to two paintings that her family was forced to surrender during the war.
